Finally...carpet!

We finally have carpet (in the basement)! YEAH! I know I have been talking about this froever, but I am excited. The guys came Friday to install...and it looks a million times better. It actually looks like another room to our house. We still have LOTS of work to do, but we are making progress and can actually go down there to play now!

Last night we spent majority of the evening putting the room back together and CLEANING! Pretty much every toy...and flat surface, for that matter is CLEAN! Pulling the floor up and just not being down there much created lots of dust! Feels sooooo good to know that everything is nice and clean! We spent a lot more time down there today doing more of the same and it actually looks much better...like an actual room rather than "catch-all...we have no idea what to do with this stuff so put it in the basement room"! Luckily, Ben and I are NOT pack rats...and are perfectly fine with getting rid of stuff so that helps! We still have a ways to go...decorating (there's nothing really on the walls...need some new furniture/chair/etc...playroom still needs decor of some sort), but all of that will come with time...and I'm actually not in a rush for once. I just wanted a BIG place for Sam to run and play...so we're good for now.

Helping daddy organize toys! We did this and realized that in 5 minutes it will all be a wreck again, but it made us feel a bit better about it! PLUS...they are all clean now! That big recliner is gone now. Well, actually it's in the other guest room/study down there (BEST recliner ever, but when you sit in it you basically are reclining FLAT on your back - it's seen better days VERY SAD - GREAT CHAIR)!

View into the little tv area. Thanks to NaNa and YaYa for their awesome old couch! Still have to put all of Ben's UT paraphanalia up on the wall, but we're getting there! The room to the right of this is the guest room (once we get a bed)/study/full bath. It didn't get new carpet. It actually had some really nice carpet and coordinated okay so we just left it alone.

Behind the bar area. That's an old coffee table that we have to get rid of...we just have absolutely NO ROOM for it anymore. It's actually a pretty good table. Has a couple of "toddler inflicted" scratches on the top, but would be good in an apartment/basement room. Right now it is going to live here until we can find a place for it.
We like this little area with the sink/fridge. Very nice to have that down there.

Don't look to close in here b/c it needs A LOT of work. This is my little craft room. Cabinets line the wall on the right which is really handy. One day...I'll actually be able to use this to its full potential! Great room. I am very thankful to have a place for all of my stuff.

Sam's play room...this was from tonight...a little bit more cleaned up. It's basically lined in toys but will give him some room to play in.
It was fun to get all of Sam's toys out for Jack to eventually use. Very fun!

That's all I've got on that. Now we just need our friends and family to come enjoy it with us.
