We had a GREAT time with Mops this week. She left today to make the trek up to Maryville to spend Christmas Eve/Day with Sara. We'll all be back together after Christmas so that will be fun.
As soon as mom got here, we hit the ground running. She and I always have LOTS of "things" to do. :) Saturday we went shopping and ran several errands. That night we fixed dinner and went over to Ben's cousin, Tracy's house. They had a Christmas party and we stopped by. Very fun...Sam played basketball on Andrew and Patrick's big basketball goal the whole time. Then we drove around to look at some lights. Seemed like everyone was out...with their lights off...because it was kind of a bummer. We are hoping to go out tomorrow night to try to find some more...we'll see. Sunday, we went to church and had a pretty lazy day...which was MUCH needed! Then Monday...more shopping. We went to the mall here in town (with Sam)...and the outlet mall not too far from here (minus Sam - after daddy got home)...we are crazy...YES! It was a busy day, but very fun. It is SOOOO nice to have someone to run errands with (especially my mom)! What a treat to be able to just run in somewhere really quick while the other person stays in the car with Sam. These are things I NEVER would have expected to be a LUXURY before I had a child. :)
The rest of the trip consisted of more shopping, eating, making chex mix, wrapping, playing with Sam, etc! Mom even watched Sam for us last night so Ben and I could go on a date!!! It was so nice to get out just the two of us. We ate at Stony River...one of my favorite steakhouses! YUM! I am such a sucker for steak and potatoes! :) THANKS mom for hanging with the little man for a while. She said she didn't mind ONE BIT...and plus, he climbed up on the couch with her before bed and cuddled for a LONG time, so she was in grandmother heaven!
:( Sad to see mom go today, but we'll see her again in a few days.
I'm also sad that we aren't in Maryville this year for Christmas. We have been at the Hazlewoods on Christmas morning every year (I think) since we've been married (and at Fairview for the Christmas Eve service at church)! Ben's parents always host a giant (AND DELICIOUS) Hazlewood breakfast Christmas morning...and we are so bummed to be missing. We decided that we would stay home this year on Christmas day...sad, but still excited to start some new traditions with our little family! We will be seeing NaNa and YaYa after Christmas though, for New Years...so we will just have to stretch it out as much as possible. Can't wait for them to get down here! Hurry up you guys! :)
Enjoy the pictures from the last few days. Hope everyone has a Happy Christmas Eve...and Christmas Day! Be SUPER safe if you are traveling!

Sorry for the bright light coming in, but I think you can see his awesome dance moves. Not sure who he gets those from.
