Fun times at the Children's Museum

Yesterday, Ben and I took Sam down to the Children's Museum in Atlanta. It seems as though our weekends always consist of us going out of town or me running errands alone without toddler in tow, etc, etc, so we wanted to take a day and spend it as a family and do pretty much whatever Sam wanted. Ben had taken him down there around Christmas time and said they had such a great time that we needed to go back. He is at a great age where he can just run around and play! There were tons of people there (which always makes me nervous) but Sam didn't seem to mind or care, so we just played and played. If you have one of those places in your town...you must go...they are GREAT!

He didn't take a nap yesterday...it's always when you think they would need one the most that they don't sleep. Then last night, we went to the Bender's house...SO MUCH FUN! The kids played and played some more. By the time we got home, Sam was a total wreck (exhausted) and even started to fall asleep on our bed after his bath. Needless to say, there was no rocking him to sleep last night, put him in his bed and he was out in a matter of seconds! Love it!

Anyway, just wanted to share some fun pictures of Sam at the Children's Museum! I love my little family...and can't believe soon we will be 4!

This was pretty cool too. The train tables had these cut-outs in the so the kids could climb in and keep the trains moving! So cute. Of course, when another child tried to climb in...Sam immediately had to get out...he has "personal space" issues. Wonder where he gets that? :)

Had to climb on the tractor. He has a couple names for these.
1. "A-YaYa": His YaYa has a tractor like this and Sam loves looking at it and talking about it. Doesn't really know what to think about riding it lately but pretty sure he'll be spending lots of time of this tractor in his future.
2. "A-Go-Fall-Down": If you haven't seen the movie "Cars" you probably don't know what I'm talking about (we've seen it a billion times), but there is a part in there where Lightning and Mater go tractor tipping...and whenever the tractors fall over...Sam goes nuts...he LOVES it. So hence the name "A go fall down"! By the way, he puts an "A" in front of EVERYTHING!

I really need to take some time and write down all of Sam's words and their meanings. Mainly b/c none of them are the correct word, but one that he has made up. We need to send a Sam dictionary with him to church (or anywhere) I think b/c one day they asked me afterwards what a "Nook" was. They said he kept asking for it and they never knew. Well, a "nook" means "cup". Not sure where that came from...maybe something from milk...I don't know. But pretty funny. We try to never call it the words he uses but the actual word, so hopefully it will rub off. Pretty funny though.
Got to get down now...had enough.

They have a Curious George exhibit there now (actually I think it ended today) so that was pretty cute.

We never knew that the highlight of the trip would be this water area. It was for kids 5 yrs and under, so there were no big kids in there (which was nice...sometimes those bigger kids don't look out for the little guys). This little pond had fishing poles with magnets and fish...Sam LOVED it. He stayed there for about 45 minutes...not kidding. He was concentrating so hard. He just stayed in the same place...so cute.

This is about the time I asked Ben if he thought we should, perhaps, get a rain coat for him.

Much better...and drier! So fun!
