We decided to have Christmas morning at our house again this year. It is so nice to wake up in our house and open presents here with the boys. We did this last year and really enjoyed it. We had a very laid back Christmas Eve. We did our traditional "appetizer-fest" and enjoyed a really nice time. We watched Christmas movies and read our "Night Before Christmas" book. Actually Mops read it to us b/c I sent her one of those Hallmark books where you can record someone else reading...and hers was "the Night Before Christmas". Sam LOVED it...and probably listened to it a thousand times. NaNa and YaYa did one too and we listened to them a million times too. What a great thing to have! I wish my grandmother could have done something like that for us. If you have kids...go get a couple of those books and have the grandparents (or you) read them...such a precious memory!
Okay, back to Christmas. The boys must have been really good this year b/c Santa came to visit and left them lots of treats. On Christmas morning, we woke up...made cinnamon pull apart bread (one of our Christmas morning traditions - can you tell we like making traditions?)...and opened presents together. Soo after, we had to get the car packed and ready to head to Maryville. We drove there Saturday and then off to Michigan Sunday morning.
Hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas as well with lots of friends and family!
Santa pjs
Santa left a great stash for the boys. Yep, Santa wraps presents here. He likes to prolong the opening fun!
Sam opening his stocking with daddy. Sam was really excited about his Veggie Tales "Larry the Cucumber" stuffed "cucmber". He carried that thing around all day.
The "toy" of the day was the new MOBI-GO (it's like a leapster) game. It has lots of fun, educational games and Sam played that thing for a REALLLLLY long time on our road trip. Mommy and Daddy REALLY enjoyed it too! I bet my mom wishes we had those things (that and portable dvd players) on those long, 2 day drives from Connecticut to Tennessee when we were kids. I can't even imagine what our grandkids will have to play with some day.
If you have little boys...these "football guys" are GREAT! Tracy brought some to us that her boys played with and Sam loves them. Then...Anita told me they had NCAA ones and we had to have some VOLS "football guys" too!
These are his new pjs that he opened Christmas Eve. I always wanted for the boys to have matching pjs to wear on Christmas morning. They weren't matching this year since Jack's and Sam's sizes don't match up yet, but they will. He really liked his Spiderman pjs...plus mommy REALLY loves those "old man" pajamas!
Santa knew that Sam really loves all things Toy Story!
Jack pretty much stayed in here the whole time to avoid the chaos that was going on on the floor...he would probably try to swallow the plastic ties on all the toys or something (he is in to EVERYTHING now). So he was much better off in there. He really likes his new GlowSeaHorse. Sam has a GlowWorm, so Jack has one now too. So cute.
