The Hazlewood family always has had a tradition of a big Hazlewood Christmas every year. Everyone got together, ate yummy food, exchanged gifts, etc...well since a lot of the kids have grown up, started families and moved away the tradition has dwindled a bit. This year Ben's cousin, Tracy got the idea for all of us to rent one of those ginormous cabins and all of us go and spend a few nights. Well, EVERYONE was on board and really excited. I can't believe everyone was able to go. If my count is correct...we had 32 people (including kids and babies) there staying. A few had to leave the next day, but wow...that's a lot. The cabin was huge and so nice. It had a huge game room where the boys all spent their time playing video games, pool, air hockey, etc. Then there was a big dining room that looked more like a cafeteria and a HUGE movie room with 8 couches. It was wonderful. It was a bit challenging with Jack b/c all he wanted to do was climb the 4 flights of stairs so someone had to be right on him the whole time, but he had a BLAST exploring.
We all split up and took a meal, so we had TONS of food and I think everyone had a WONDERFUL time. Such a GREAT family!
Anita, Drew, NaNa and MeiMei
Jacob played with the big boys most of the time. He LOVED playing football against the older boys.
Ben's cousin, Chad and his girlfriend, Christina. This was on our Mexican night...Tracy and Chad and families cooked up an awesome mexican meal! Did I mention we had a lot of food?! :)
Anita and Drew...such a good baby!
Hard to really see this b/c of the light, but this was the huge game room we had. This kept the big boys occupied about 95% of the time.
Hazlewood Dining
Happy, Beautiful baby
Jack really liked the air hockey table. He really just liked to put the pucks into the hole and thought it was hilarious when it dropped down the hole. So funny.
Not quite big enough to play but he really liked pushing in all of the fooseball handles.
You can tell we were wandering one day...here he is jumping on Sam's blow up bed (if Sam only knew).
MeiMei and Jack taking a break to rock on the deck!
Daddy and Jack (I think he looks so big in this picture).
Breakfast time!
Layla, Zoe, Sam and MeiMei spent a lot of time racing trains on the floor (at least Sam did) and apparently under the pool table. Layla (the littlest) was cracking up at Sam racing his trains (his obsession).
Angela and Uncle Johnnie (YaYa's brother)
Angela, NaNa, Uncle Johnnie, Rob, MeiMei and YaYa! GREAT picture.
The ladies (this generations matriarchs). NaNa, Angela and Suzie all married the Hazlewood brothers!
Me, Drew and Anita - love my sis-in-law!
NaNa feeding (and entertaining) her littlest boys!
We laughed A LOT! Here's NaNa, MeiMei and Aunt Suzie!
Brothers - Max and Johnnie
We took some time one afternoon and had Christmas with Rob and Anita. The kids had so much fun playing with their new toys!
Daddy and Jack working on some Thomas LEGO Duplos! Thanks Anita and Rob! Can you see the huge movie screen? It was awesome. We watched a few movies with the kids there. So nice.
The aftermath!
MeiMei was excited about the Tangled movie we got her. She is SO CUTE!
NaNa's kiddos!
YaYa, Jack and Drew playing in the floor! So sweet!
What a wonderful few days we had in the mountains with such an amazing family. It definitely "completed" our Christmas! Can't wait for the next monstrous Hazlewood Family Gathering! I know that Grandmother and Granddaddy Hazlewood...and Uncle Joe Bob were all smiling down on all their "people" enjoying each other in one place! Quite a legacy they created.
Merry Christmas All!
