My friends, Ashley, Leanne and Katey signed up to lead VBS at our church this summer. We figured that the four of us could divide and conquer and put on a great VBS for the kids.
We've been planning for months...and months...and months. FINALLY, the time had come. We started setting up last weekend (well...earlier than that) for a VBS start on Monday. After a LONG (and really fun actually) few days...we got the whole place ready to go for kids on Monday. I was terrified every day that the whole place would have fallen, but it all stayed...and looked so fun.
Our friends, Sean and Kristy built these stage flats for us to build our "sky" background. They did a GREAT job.
Here's our BEFORE picture.
Ben took the boys to maryville last weekend b/c I was at the church all day each day. Good thing, b/c I never would have been able to fit them in the car with all this stuff for set up! :) It was crazy...and this was only one of many trips.
Painted the flats sky blue.
Pool noodles...why not make some rainbows with them?
So pretty and So fun!
This is how we left it Friday night before our decorating helpers showed up on Saturday.
OCD Kate...likes to have a TO-DO list. :)
READY TO GO...Ashley's husband, Todd build that GINORMOUS hot air balloon on the left side. It was awesome. He did such a great job! You could climb inside it and everything.
Hallway going in to auditorium. Lots of clouds, airplanes, kites...and BALLOONS. Had so much fun with the theme this year. So bright and colorful.
After a long day Sunday...decided that the front windows needed a little something. Got some window paints and kind of got carried away. The kids liked it.
Foyer..
Hallway into auditorium
Parachute hot air balloon from the ceiling
The "sky" in the hallways are Lowes dropcloths that are blue. They fit perfectly. SO FUN!
Tissue paper clouds and lantern hot air balloons.
