Happy Early Birthday SURPRISE to NaNa and YaYa

Last weekend we (Ben, myself, Rob, Anita and all the kids) surprised NaNa and YaYa with a little early 60th birthday get-together! Their birthdays aren't until March and June, but we wanted to catch them off guard and with Rob and Anita expecting...we knew their travel was limited, so we decided on this past weekend. We (kudos to Anita for being the brains of the operation) talked with some of NaNa and YaYa's great friends, the Andersons to go along with us on the charade to surprise them. Of course, Joella went above and beyond and invited them for a fabulous evening! We showed up and we had a wonderful evening with such great family/friends! NaNa and YaYa were TOTALLY shocked...it was awesome.
LOVE our family!
NaNa and YaYa plus 8!
SURPRISE!
I made this camping cake for NaNa and YaYa in honor of their love for camping...and the outdoors! My favorite part was the matchbox camper...had to buy a whole package of them to get it but I was beyond excited to find it. :) So fun...even though everyone's mouths turned green b/c of the icing.
Jack and Archie.

LOVE this picture of YaYa and Jack!
More cake...
and the back...no those aren't green peas along the layers (YaYa and Rob thought they might be)...they actually are icing. Ha! It does look like a bunch of peas doesn't it? Hey, I'm new at this...
A bunch of people have asked me...those trees are just ice cream cones turned upside down...how fun is that?
Good times...
MeiMei was so cute leading us in singing "Happy Birthday"...she loves to sing songs...which I LOVE! :)
LOVEBIRDS!
Let's have some cake!
Joella serving us some cake! She was such a great hostess!
